The Body Shop Wise Woman Eye Cream Review

This is the eye cream I have been using since the past year, on and off. I have been noticing fine lines and slight appearance of wrinkles, boo hoo!! I asked my mom to get me something because she sources out really good products. She has good skin, better than me, porcelain perfect I have to say.

This cream is for really mature skin. Maybe that's one reason I am unable to notice a great difference with it. I remember my mom loves the Body Shop's Vitamin E cream, I like that too but we both have completely different reviews of each of these creams. Like completely DIFFERENT!  But still I did expect a lot because even though I do not have mature skin, if it has to help then it has to do it's job of atleast filling in my fine lines. If it doesn't work for me then I can't understand how it's doing it's job for someone "more wise".

This is also the first serious eye cream that I have used because I think it is time to start getting some pampering for the under eye region, better late than never. I spend a lot of my time on the computer and I work well late into the nights on it. It has been affecting my facial skin drastically and I really hate the after-effects.

The brand says that the cream helps toImprove the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and lines around your eyes with an innovative, rich moisturizer that uses cotton fibers to “fill” in lines as it soothes and smoothes.

I have to say that I was terribly impressed reading just that but after using it for so long, I am not too impressed.
It is moisturizing. Very. But it does not fill in my lines at all. It just soothes my under eye region. And that's about it.

Key Ingredients:

Aloe vera gel: Has excellent soothing and calming properties.

Marula Oil
: Naturally rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, marula oil from Namibia makes our lip colors glide on and gives our face and eye powders a smooth, hydrating finish while changing thousands of women’s lives.

Organic olive oil from Italy
: Helps to condition the skin.

Witch hazel: Helps to refresh the skin and reduce the appearance of puffiness.

Glycerin: Is an effective moisturizer which helps improve softness and maximize hydration.

It has a mild scent, nothing too offensive, just smells of some kind of oil.
It not very rich and not very thin in consistency but since I wear spectacles and if I hit the gym with this on, it will smear and leaves stain on my spectacles. So that's a no-no to the gym or for humid areas. The cream is white in colour but you cannot see it once it's absorbed, it may leave an oily sheen if you are oily skinned.

I like the pump, it helps to deliver the right quantity but it's not too precise if you want to control exactly how much quantity of product you need, there will be some wastage and there are some days when I open the bottle I can see some product leak out and clog the opening of the dispenser. It is not a huge problem but for quite an expensive cream, they could fix that. Do I complain much, Body Shop? :) I am a Virgo, after all. So please excuse me.

What I expect from this eye cream is plumping of the eye area and that has not been delivered. I still have my sunken eyes when I wake up after using this.

So my search for a high end eye cream that works on my fine lines is still on. I am so tempted to try out the Fair and Lovely new under-eye cream. Their advertisement is so tempting, I fall for these things like a sitting duck.
Has anyone tried it yet or anything better? I would love to hear your recommendations. I am also looking out for some natural remedies too, anything that works, guys!!

Hole in my mom's wallet : $24 for 0.5oz

    1. Megha, I suggest you look for something better than this. I have severe under eye circles and I am on the last leg of finishing this off, it may have helped to moisturize but did nothing to lighten the area.
