I remember using the Dove Cucumber and Green Tea soap. It's my favourite soap of all time and I love it's fragrance. So when I noticed they had released a body mist of the same fragrance, I just had to have it. They have it in a couple more variants but I wanted my hands especially on the Cucumber and green tea one. I asked my dad to look for it as it was not available in India. He wasn't able to source it. When an aunt was coming from the US, she had asked me if I wanted anything, I said 'no' because I didn't want to trouble her. She still did get me something and this was it!!! I couldn't believe my luck.

SD Alcohol 40 B, Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Fragrance, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Yellow 6 Aluminum Lake (CI 15985), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090)
MY THOUGHTS
My joy knew no bounds when I received this as a gift from my aunt.
But my enthusiasm faded on first spritz because I had very high hopes.
For one, I am not a girl who likes overpowering perfume or scents that give me a headache, and most of them do give me a bad headache.
I like very clean and fresh smelling scents, something like the grass would smell like after the first rain.
I was looking for something closer to that but no.
At first spritz, it's the alcohol that hit me first.
After a while it does fade away completely and leaves a faint smell of cucumber but not at all the way the soap smells.
I would not buy this again because if I spritz it more than once, I feel choked.
Am sure many of you won't feel so because it's just a body mist and it's not that strong but for me it is strong. I detest it.
I am not a fan of this one and won't see myself purchasing it. I hope the other variants are less alcohol-smelling as this one.
The aroma is really too strong and cheap smelling.
It will last close to an hour and a half on you. But it won't hold longer than that.
If any of you can recommend something lighter and that has a good staying power without that over-powering fake or alcohol smell, it would be really nice if you could leave a comment. I am still searching for a good,natural and light perfume or mist.
I don't like it or love it :( So no hearts for this one. Sorry, Dove.

DeleteOne thing I noticed about dove is that their soaps vary in quality when compared to the ones sold in India and US.. I was using the cucumber soap back in US for a pretty long time and when I moved back to India the same soap was a total disappointment for me (it didnt lather or smell good after 4 or 5 washes!!) seriously this made me doubt if they are actually dumping old/duplicate stuff to Indian market! anyways I am not using dove soaps anymore :( btw i wll stop my ranting here and a nice review CC :)

DeleteNice review... I too can't take strong perfumes or deo's... Gives me headache... As I started reading I thought of maybe I should try this... after all I don't mind cucumber fragrance... but since I read through the end I'll not bother to try it. :)

DeleteI love dove product in this particular scent. I am a big fan of dove cucumber and green tea deo. The smell is not too overpowering....it will give you a fresh relaxing smell....
