I am a teeth cleaning freak, am very particular about my teeth being perfect because we need them for the rest of our lives to chew the lovely food that nourishes our bodies which ultimately are our vehicle of transport to everything and everywhere. So we really need to take care of our dental hygiene. My father has always tried to instill the importance of maintaining good teeth and he has lovely teeth. I don't. So that's the whole point of this review. It is to create awareness of taking care of our mouth. He also taught me to use a tongue cleaner always which I know many people don't use. It's important guys.

I am not very fond of the mouthwashes in India as most of them are very strong and have a high content of alcohol in them which causes so much stinging that you find it so hard to swish it around your mouth for even a minute.

Until I found the Green tea version of the same product, I bought this a lot and used it every time a bottle got over, I re-purchased this same variant. I found it so useful when my friend's mom was admitted with cancer surgery at the hospital. There were times when we had to just wake up at odd hours and not have time to brush our teeth, I'd give her this bottle quietly and she would give me a faint smile. It was our way of taking care of each other in those days. We bonded over my mouthwash too. Yeah, I know it might sound weird to you but this really helped us so much. I had bought the travel size to use then.
It's a brilliant blue colour, reminds me of the ocean lol

It stings as it has ethyl alcohol in it.

I did dilute it though it says not to but I had to.

It was my HG Mouth wash here in India but now that it's newer variant has come along, I am not going to re-purchase this one ever again, I am totally loving the new one which I will review very soon. I JUST LOVE THAT ONE!!

It cleans my mouth really well and keeps my breath smelling fresh for hours.

I don't worry about germ build up when I use a mouth wash in conjunction to brushing my pearlies.

I feel it's better not to use mouthwashes with alcohol in them. They just do not feel right.

Garnier Anti Dark Circles Tinted Eye Roll-On

Happy Sunday, Everyone!

This review was written two weeks back but I was having alot of trouble updating my pictures from Picasa to Google Plus and then realizing that my phone didn't have the latest IOS 5 so I couldn't transfer my photos through the phone to my blog without Google Plus and rrrrrgh! It was driving me crazy. I just could not do it. It drained me away trying to figure out how to. As a temporary fix, I somehow managed to get these pictures to the computer and here is my post finally!

This is the first concealer of any kind that I have purchased. The reason that attracted me the most to just spot pick it was the cover photo. It showed dark circles just the way I have and the product erasing/masking it away. It hit a really raw nerve. It was an economical buy and it promised a lot as I have noticed under-eye circles from late nights and a lot of stress in the past couple of years with studies. I knew I had to work on getting rid of these circles and this product promised both treatment and concealing, so I had to just get it.

I have been using this for the past five months so this post is worth it's salt and it is my take about the product.

Product claims

How to use

In a light circular motion, roll the applicator via the roller ball onto areas you want to conceal.If necessary use your fingertips to spread evenly.

Apply twice a day in the morning and evening or as required.

I have come across 2 shades only:

Fair and Medium

INGREDIENTS

It is a concealer + under eye cream/gel rolled in one. Although the information about this online mentions that it is available in 4 shades but all the stores I went to had just two shades.

Till very recently I thought I had purchased 'Medium skin' tone and I was wondering why it wasn't blending well and sitting pretty under my eyes. It just would not blend in to suit my skin. I just happened to read the 'Fair' in the pictures that I was posting here and went and double checked and guess what!! I can't believe I purchased 'Fair'. The SA told me it would suit my skin tone and for some reason I thought she was giving me 'Medium'. Gosh, am such a dud.
Note to myself- Always double check even after the SA's seal the packet and give it to you post purchase. Make sure you have got the right product, goof ball!!

MY THOUGHTS

Both the colors are targeted more towards those with fair-er complexion. Also, it is mentioned that you must use it twice a day , once in evening and one in morning. Okay, morning I can understand but evening? I mean who sleeps with concealer on at night? Both the shades give light to medium coverage on me and the shades are such that they may looks ashy on a lot of people especially for those who have my king of skin tone.

I am still on the edge of liking it too much . It needs more shades in India.
It's light, runny but not too liquidy in texture and so it will not glide off your skin. It dries to matte, stays put and won't come off at all. So absolutely great staying power which I really, really like.

Everything's great except that both shades don't match my undereye area :(
They should launch way more shades for this product to click.
You cannot carry this around with you because if you just tip it and it's not kept straight, lots of product comes off onto the ball and cap and creates a real mess, waste of product. I have a picture of that for you below.
It settles into my fine lines enhancing them and won't flatter me in close-up and HD pictures. Scary thought!
It doesn't make my under eye skin taut or tight; so much for the claims of caffeine in it.

Th feel of the metal ball is divine but I can't use it too much because so much product comes off with each roll. Wish there was a click-and-lock mechanism so I could keep rolling. Asking much?

NOTE TO GARNIER

I had left this in my purse for a few days and when I opened it all the product had spilled out all over the roller ball and into the cap. Lot of product wasted. Just look at the mess.

IMPORTANT!! ALWAYS KEEP THIS UPRIGHT IN A STANDING POSITION

As you can see, I have tried blending it out in many ways using several techniques but you really know that it's not my under-eye skin tone and it appears terrible in pictures making me look sort of older than I am. That's my only regret. Other than the shade match not being right, I think they should introduce a couple more shades in this product and then it's a win-win all the way.

I am waiting for the product to get over with excitement so I can use the empty case for it's steel rubber mall to massage in my eye creams at night. won't that be FUN!!! :)))))
But this product is going to last me all year even with daily use. There is quite a bit packed in there.

Garnier Pure Naturals Exfoliating Face Wash- Eucalyptus Leaf Extract

First of all, I have to admit. I love anything Eucalyptus. Having said that, I have Eucalyptus oils, Eucalyptus creams and now I WANT a Eucalyptus tree. So when my eyes fell on this product, there was no pause between wondering what it was. I saw Eucalyptus and this was in my cart.

It is summer and my skin's been misbehaving. Alot!
I feel itchy and then suddenly I get rashes, at times, acne. All in all, am just a mess.
I try all kinds of things to keep my skin cool in this sweltering heat. Are you all facing similar troubles with your skin? I have to spend a while in the heat when I commute so it doesn't make things easy. Summer, you bring me so much cheer but you also making me sweat and break out.
What does the brand claim
It is an effective daily face wash that helps to remove excess oil and imperfections and helps to prevent them from re-appearing. It's unique formula blends an alcohol-free gel with active ingredients. Micro-particles exfoliate the dead skin cells that deep cleanses and purifies pores and imperfections.

How to use

MY THOUGHTS

I really love the smell, the look and feel to this product.

I am not a scrub-kinda girl, so the only thing that I wish was they launched this in a scrub-free version.

Even though the scrub particles are really minute and the tiniest most micro blue plastic-feeling beads you will ever find, I still wish this face wash didn't have it so I could use it more than once a week. Let me add, the micro-beads do not dissolve as you wash your face. They are insoluble beads.

It is not harsh and is quite alright but at this moment, my skin has become very sensitive, and so I miss using this product alot.

I love using it in the morning, otherwise, as it feels so refreshing in this heat and almost wakes me up. It doesn't give any tingling sensation but just the smell. It's so pure and I feel like I am not living in a city hehe just for a few seconds. ;)

The product has is a colourless gel with bright blue micro-beads, you need very little product and it lathers very well so it will last a really long time.

It cleanses the oil from your skin, it will not remove blackheads as it is very gentle and the micro-particles just about brush the surface of your skin and pores but again I have to stress do not use this if your skin is agitated in the slightest bit. It may do more harm than good. As a matter of fact, not just this scrub, any scrub would feel the same to sensitive skin.

It will leave your face matte for almost two hours in summer.

It will not do anything for your pores to minimize them.

I love the ingredient list and I can feel all these ingredients in the face wash while I use it.

I will always repurchase this and their mint one. I like that on the same lines too. I have already re-stocked them both.

I have been so lazy. There are so many pictures and so many reviews that I need to be doing but I quite wasn't getting the hang of transferring the pictures from my camera to picasa to google plus. I was just getting confused and I kept quitting. Normally, I just put up the pictures from the web album on picasa but now something seems to have changed and I just can't figure out what. My non-computer brain is just not getting the hang of it. So it's taking me a while. Otherwise, I have so much to say and so let's just get on with the review, eh? :)

Today I am reviewing one of the new face washes I received free when I bought the Lacto Calamine Lotion when I was in Chennai. It was so neat looking but when I got it free I wasn't sure how good it would be.

It comes in a transparent package so you know how much product is left as you use it. I like that. I also like how they call it Skinsurance for normal and oily skin. Skinsurance!! really cool!

MY THOUGHTS

It is a gel.
It has everything raspberry to it. Reminds me of raspberry dollies and raspberry candies I used to devour in my childhood. So that smell or scent takes me back to happy times and because of that I really, really love the kiddish smell. Some of you may not like that but I really LOVE it :)
The colour is a light lavender.
It lathers extremely well so you just need a dot of the product to cover your entire face and neck.
It's very gentle and managed to remove all signs of oiliness and left my face reasonably clean.
It will not clean up your pores though, that extreme squeaky clean sensation won't be there but it still does a fairly good job and won't leave a film-on-your-skin kind of feeling.
My skin is generally oily so this suited my skin but I am not sure if it's for girls with dry or really dry skin.
It did not break me out and I do have sensitive skin so this fared very well in that department. Safe!
It will not tighten your pores or lighten your skin tone.
It will last a long time!! You barely need any product, just a dot else you will end up using up a lot of water to wipe it off completely. Just a dot of product is all you need.

Maybelline CLEARGLOW ALL IN ONE Fairness Compact Powder Review

After so much hype over the Maybelline "BB" Cream launch in India, most of us ran out throwing our books and bags to buy it, took it back home, used it, reviewed it and then this was launched. It may have been launched simultaneously in most cities as they are supposed to go hand in hand but not where I live. The BB cream came first and then the compact.
I, for one, did not run out to get the BB cream as I had stopped purchasing cosmetics. I had hoarded so much that I decided I have to skip a few irresistible launches till my cosmetics got used up. By then it was just wait and watch as blogger after beauty blogger poured their hearts out about how everyone love love loved it and then after couple of weeks about how everyone hate hate hated it. Oh well, at that time I went to purchase some gifts for my sister and mom, I knew this would be something they could use on a daily basis. So I went ahead and got it. Did they like it? Check out my take on this product.

What does the brand claim

Maybelline Clear Glow All In One Fairness Compact Powder is infused with Pro Vitamin C, it instantly illuminates skin’s appearance revealing a healthy fair glow.

My Thoughts

The packaging is really impressive. It comes in nice box. As you remove the box you get this lovely sleek compact case that holds the pressed powder. It can be easily used during traveling as the design is really compact and the product will be leak proof. It will stay in the container without any damage. The case is not round unlike most compacts I have used in India. this is a more unique shape. My Revlon one was a square compact. This feels posh. hehe

As you open up the casing, you see the film with the sponge and a nice mirror attached to the case.

Very convenient for use.

The powder on it's own is very soft, almost silky to touch. It doesn't feel cakey at all on application. It blends so easily into the skin and remains matte for a long time and doesn't form that contrasting layer especially when you get your right shade.
If you don't manage to pick the right shade and many of my friends who are slightly on the tan side who didn't find the right shade, chose something lighter and found it gave a white cast to the face. It just would not blend in and looked ghastly especially in photos.

I purchased shade 01 which is Light

It gives an even tone and I can't say much about the fairness claims as I don't think many compacts have done that for me.

It has SPF 26

It stays on for a good two hours in humid weather, maybe even less for those who have exceptionally oily skin. It can be touched up over the course of the day but this fairs well and is a decent product for the cost.

If used in conjunction with the BB cream, am sure it would stay on your skin longer.

I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for something to suit your budget and for daily use.

It hasn't irritated my mom's or sister's skin so far.

I have been told by the sales rep that this can be used wet too but she didn't demonstrate how nor was it written anywhere on the cover that you can use it as a foundation. I doubt it will give any coverage. Have you tried it as a foundation? What do you think?

For refreshing our summers, what can we do without toners especially in a high humidity region as I dwell in. :) Yes, everyone, today is toner-review day. I like using rose water to tone my skin but sometimes I get bored and look for something new and that is how I came across this particular toner. I wanted something closer to nature.
I have been using this toner from Himalayas brand from the past year. Yes, I haven't been able to finish it yet but I am almost done with this bottle hence a review is apt right now.

I had mailed the company regarding a con in this product and let me tell you how receptive the team at Himalayas is. They have actually improved upon this product. As soon as this bottle is over with, I want to try out their improvised version.

Let me break it down for you all. This is a very gentle toner and it will not cause any sensitivity or break you out. It is very mild. Dry skinned beauties will love this product as it is also moisturizing. Which brings me to the con part. Oily- skinned beauties would find their skin a tad greasy after dabbing this on their face with cotton. That is what happened for me. I had contacted the company for the same and they brought out the new variant.

This is what the product claims :

Ingredients Include:

Jasminum sambac (Jasmine, Jati)
Mimosa pudica (Sensitive Plant, Lajjalu)
Origanum majorana (Marjoram, Marubaka)
Citrus limon (Lemon, Nimbuka)

Use Directions:

After using Himalaya Herbals Deep Cleansing Milk, pour a few drops of Gentle Refreshing Toner on a cotton pad and wipe thoroughly over your face and neck.

Action: A special blend of herbs that controls excess oil secretion and makes your skin oil-free. It is enriched with Lemon and Jasmine which refresh and cool your skin, Sensitive Plant extracts that control excess oil secretion, and Sweet Marjoram that nourishes the skin, to keep it healthy and radiant.

The product is watery and not thick, very refreshing and I like the fragrance, has a hint of lemon to it and some other nice almost floral or citrusy fragrance. Very pleasant to use. Feels nice on the skin.

This product has no alcohol in it which is what you see in most toners which have harsher chemicals in them. That is a major plus point especially if you have mature, dry or sensitive skin.

The only minus I could find is that it leaves my skin greasy as I already have oily skin otherwise it's a really special product and I will re-purchase this as soon as I am done with this.

I am planning to buy the Himalayas under-eye cream which so many beauty bloggers have been raving about so I need to make a trip to the store soon.

Hi Everyone! Today I thought of reviewing something which is a staple in my vanity since the past two years.

I discovered this beauty when it was sent to me by the managing team at Himalaya Herbals. I have used a lot of nourishing creams for my skin, though it has similar properties to many, this one did a lot of magic for my skin. It truly is extremely re-hydrating and refreshing as it's claims.

Product Description

A gentle blend of herbal extracts that restores skin vitality. Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream is a light and non-greasy daily use cream, that provides you all day moisturizing, nourishment and protection. Enriched with Aloe Vera, which nourishes and moisturizes, Winter Cherry and Indian Kino Tree extracts, protect your skin from pollution and dry weather.

It is indicated for all skin types and used for skin nourishment throughout the day. Massage it gently all over the body.

Ingredients are:

My experience with the product:

I have used Pond's nourishing cream earlier and wasn't satisfied with what it did for my skin besides leaving it very greasy. Especially overnight, it would not get absorbed and would leave me uncomfortable till I removed it the next day with water. This cream is really, really thick but it gets absorbed into the skin overnight and leaves you waking up to really nourished and younger looking skin in the morning. I kid you not! I really love this product for the miracles it's done to my skin. It has eased up fine wrinkles on my feet too.There are days when I neglect my skin and then I have to pick this up to ease out all the damage. It does a wonderful job at that.

It has a very subtle and soothing fragrance which I quite like. I use it all over the body and when my face is feeling exceptionally dry, I take some product and lightly dab it on to my skin.

It takes care of that stretchy feeling and leaves the skin manageable and comforted. It has never broken me out.

I use it on my feet too at night, initially it feels like the cream is not going to sink in but eventually and surely, it does and your skin is able to breathe again .This cream is very thick, mind you, and it still gets absorbed in a while.

My tub is over and I am not able to purchase this online as it's always out of stock. Which means I need to get myself to the store asap!
